The Reserve Bank of India has proposed a revised graded dividend payout policy, allowing banks with a net non-performing assets (NPA) ratio less than 6% and capital adequacy above regulatory thresholds for the past three financial years to declare dividends. The policy would increase dividend payouts, benefiting the government, which owns majority shares in public sector banks.

Credit card repayment delays account for about one-fifth of the total gross non-performing assets (NPA) of RBL Bank, which is seeking to clean up its books after a change of guard at the private lender that lost more than 50% in its market capitalisation over the past five years.

The company had pushed the early consent deadline from December 27 to January 2 on investor demand. Early consent fee of 2% will boost the overall return to the bond holders, who are already getting higher coupons on the bonds, said a consenting bondholder.

The shares had hit a 52-week high intraday Monday, gaining nearly 40% in two trading sessions after the report emerged on the Starlink talks.

As per BSE bulk deals data, Damani acquired 2.23 lakh shares in the company at an average price of ₹3,390 per share, in a transaction of ₹75.6 crore.

In its order passed on December 29, Sebi found Radhey Shyam Jhanwar was an associate person of MDPL during the inspection period and hence was required to possess the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) certification.

The company had filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the market regulator in September 2023. The IPO is completely a fresh issue worth Rs 1,000 crore. The price band for the public offer will be announced soon. The share allotment for the IPO will be finalised on January 12 and the listing date is fixed as January 16.
