The Federal Reserve will slow the pace of its balance sheet drawdown starting next month due to the impasse over the government s borrowing limit. This change will see the cap for Treasury maturities reduced to $5 billion per month from the previous $25 billion cap.

Foreign holdings of U.S. Treasuries remained steady in January, maintaining demand for government debt. Japan remained the largest non-U.S. holder, while China s holdings slightly increased. There was a mix of inflows and outflows in major U.S. asset classes. Overall net foreign acquisitions showed a net outflow of $48.8 billion in January.

The company plans to raise Rs 45 crore for working capital by selling 45.78 lakh shares at Rs 98 each. Paradeep Parivahan provides port-related services at Paradip Port, Odisha.

The U.S. dollar weakened after the Federal Reserve indicated potential interest rate cuts later this year amidst tariff uncertainty. The pound reached a four-month high before the Bank of England s policy decision, while Turkey s lira and the Australian dollar saw significant fluctuations. NHPC s board has approved a borrowing plan to raise up to Rs 6,300 crore for FY26 through bonds and loans. The company recently reported a significant decline in quarterly profit by 47% and formed a joint venture for renewable energy projects with Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corp.
