The stock rose 20% Friday to close at an all-time high of $474.99 per share. The gain added $197 billion to its market capitalization, the biggest single-session market value addition, eclipsing the $190 billion gains made by Apple Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. in 2022.

Robust U.S. economic data is confronting investors with an unexpected question: whether strong growth can keep driving stocks higher even if the Federal Reserve delivers less monetary-policy easing than the market had hoped.

Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos will sell 50 million shares in the online retail and cloud services firm over the next one year, according to a company filing on Friday.

Nearly 50 companies, including Archean Chemical Industries, Affle, Balu Forge, Clean Science and Technology, Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals, and Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), will announce their December quarter earnings. The market is particularly interested in the results of PSU lender State Bank of India (SBI).

SBI has guided for a shortfall of Rs 10,000 crore towards the new wage agreement, which will be spread over two quarters of H2FY24. In the second quarter, SBI had a one-off wage provision of Rs 3400 crore.

The social media giant is the first of its generation of internet juggernauts to issue a dividend, a milestone for a tech sector that has been dominated by the same handful of companies for well over a decade.

"The performance in Q3 was marginally impacted on account of heavy rainfall and floods in Chennai and adjacent areas in December 2023, leading to loss of revenues for approx. 7-8 days from Chennai region, which is one of the focus cities for Metropolis," Ameera Shah, promoter and managing director of Metropolis Healthcare said.

The consolidated total income for the quarter declined 55% from a year ago to Rs 89 crore. It achieved pre-sales of Rs 443 crore through 0.53 million sq ft saleable area in the residential business. Collections stood at Rs 386 crore in the residential business.

Net profit margin, which is a ratio of net profit to total revenue, improved to 18.1% from 10.52% over the same period. The gross non-performing assets ratio fell to 4.26% at the end of December from 4.76% a year back. Net NPA stood at 2.24% against 2.4%.
