The dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of six currencies, was up 0.08% at 103.43, on pace for its sixth straight day of gains and was up 0.9% on the week.

Nifty on Friday ended 160 points higher to form a Doji candle on the daily chart as the index reclaimed its short-term moving averages but lacked decisiveness. As long as the sharp opening downside gap of Wednesday remains open at 21,970, there is a higher probability of a ‘sell on rise’ in the market for the short term. Immediate support is at 21,550 level, said Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities.

The net profit is seen rising 6% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 2,653 crore, on the back of a moderate 1% growth in revenue to Rs 15,378 crore, the average of estimates given by 13 brokerages showed.

Polycab India reported a double-digit growth in both profit and revenue for the quarter ended December. The consolidated net profit rose 15.4% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 413 crore while the consolidated revenue from operations grew nearly 17% YoY to Rs 4,340 crore. Sequentially, the bottomline fell 3% versus Rs 430 crore in Q2FY24, while the topline rose a moderate 3%.

Quarterly ARPU (average revenue per user), a key performance metric, though, remained flat sequentially at Rs 181.7 for India’s largest telco by subscriber base.

UltraTech’s consolidated sales for the quarter were at ₹16,487 crore, up nearly 8% on year, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization rose by around 38% to ₹3,395 crore. On a sequential basis, sales rose by 5% while the operating profit was 25% higher.

RIL reported a 9.3% YoY growth in consolidated net profit to Rs 17,265 crore, beating the estimate of Rs 16,944 crore.
