The Chinese stock market accounted for 23.77% of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index as of Dec. 31, according to Bloomberg calculations, while Goldman Sachs Group Inc. put the latest weight at 26.4%, citing FactSet data. Either way, this is the lowest since 2017, when the New York-based firm announced the addition of China’s mainland stocks, so-called A shares, to the index.

Fino Payments Bank has applied for a small finance bank license. The bank has been preparing itself for an upgrade in terms of banking activity for quite some time. Fino has around Rs 600 crore of net worth while the minimum capital requirement for small finance banks is Rs 200 crore at present.

Term deposit rates have increased between 70 and 120 basis points, mostly in the third quarter. Analysts say that the margin compression could hence be severe, particularly year on year, as banks have lost most benefits from the rise in interest rates in their bid to garner funds. One basis point is 0.01 percentage point.

The changes in FTSE All-World and FTSE All Cap will be announced on February 16 and the adjustments will take place on March 15, the firm said.

Sony is planning to officially send a termination notice to Zee by this month end, maybe as early as January 22nd, said two people aware of the matter, unless Zee relents on key clauses. Sources close to Zee said most operational CPs have been "cured" while some joint ones are pending from both sides and those linked to the actual consummation of the merger will happen on deal closure.
