The Bank of England looks set to stick to its tough line against talk of interest rate cuts in Britain, even as other leading central banks signal that they might be approaching a turning point in their fight against inflation.

According to exchange data, Softbank has offloaded 9.35 crore shares in the company at Rs 120.5 apiece. Through the deal, prominent investors, including Citigroup, Fidelity Investment, Goldman Sachs, Invesco MF, ICICI Pru Life, Morgan Stanley and others picked up shares in the company.

Promoters held 0.0 per cent stake in the company as of 30-Sep-2023, while FII and DII ownership stood at 24.08 per cent and 2.36 per cent, respectively.

A total of 827 shares changed hands on the counter till 02:05PM (IST).

“Just because BJP has won the elections and the probability of them coming back with a bang in May is extremely high, it does not make sense to buy the stocks where the results will not be there because this market is in a phase where there is a lot of rotation happening. If the results do not follow through, you are going to be disappointed.”

Direct emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) disclosed by Nifty 500 companies stood at 1.03 billion tonnes of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) in FY23.

“Now, because after the latest SEZ notification, it is going to be a floor-wise classification, you can get the companies who do not want to take advantage of the tax benefit to come in and be classified as a non-SEZ. Since it is done floor-wise, to me that is the most exciting part.”

Coming to the buildup of fresh short positions, When the stock prices move downward and open interest on the counter increases, it is taken as a sign of a long build-up. The signal is considered more reliable if the volume on the counter has also seen an increase as the stock price declines.
