Billionaire Anil Agarwal is considering a major restructuring of his profitable zinc unit Hindustan Zinc Ltd to help the Vedanta group reduce its debt.

“A broad-based rally in largecaps – not market cap broad-based, but sectorally broad-based within the largecap space – would be the best strategy for investors to adopt. If they want to go beyond largecap funds, then flexi-cap funds represent a good option because they normally have 15-20% or maybe up to 30% in the broader market.”

The market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies surged to Rs 348.64 lakh crore in initial deals on Wednesday, from Rs 346.47 lakh crore in the previous trading session.

The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 1466.0 and low of Rs 1092.0.

Short buildup means more people are expecting the prices to go down and creating short positions.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 0.38 per cent down at 731.55.

“Predictions on when the US Fed will cut rates vary from March to April or September next year. I believe the threshold of cutting the rates a little later, probably next September. But they can always come back and rescue the economy by cutting rates this time which was not there for the last couple of years.”
