On Thursday, among other steps aimed at de-risking the credit market, the RBI announced an increase in risk weights on loans given by banks to NBFCs, effectively pushing up capital needs for all classes of lenders. That will mean higher interest rates for all borrowing segments.

The conversion of a private limited company into a public company is a mandatory step for a firm that wants to list on the stock exchange. Consequently, the name of the firm has been changed to Ola Electric Mobility Ltd from Ola Electric Mobility Private Limited, according to the regulatory filings.

The shares were disposed of at an average price of Rs 403.51 apiece, taking the aggregate deal size to Rs 738.64 crore.

If current gains hold, shares will have nearly doubled since late July after the former Mattel executive was appointed to revive the once sought-after brand.

Cooler-than-expected U.S. inflation data on Tuesday and Wednesday reset market expectations for how soon the Federal Reserve will cut rates and weighed on the dollar. The greenback is poised for its biggest weekly drop since July, down 1.6% over the past five days, and second-biggest decline this year.

Brent futures rose $1.34, or about 1.7%, to $78.76 a barrel by 1349 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) was at $74.1, up $1.2, also roughly 1.7%.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 19.35 points, or 0.06%, at the open to 34,964.82.

The 10-year Treasury yield, which moves inversely to its price, is down around 60 basis points from its October peak. The yield briefly fell to 4.37% on Friday before data showing that US housing starts increased marginally in October. Economists had expected a slight decline

Ardour Investment Holding and Emerging Market Investment DMCC, who are part of the promoter group entities, acquired 7.92 crore shares or 2.06% stake in Adani Power between September 26 and November 16. In the early part of September, promoter entities Fortitude Trade and Investment Ltd and Emerging Market Investment DMCC had acquired 8.5 crore shares or 2.2% stake in Adani Power, which had taken the cumulative holding of the promoter group to 69.09%.
