On Comex, gold futures were trading at $1,876.90 per troy ounce on Tuesday, up by $11.90 or 0.64% while silver futures were at $21.970, higher by $0.460 or 1.210%.

After dropping 15 basis points at the open, 10-year yields were 12.5 bps lower at 4.66% at 1235 GMT. Two-year yields also dived more than 13 bps to a one-month low of 4.926% as short-term rate expectations were dialled back.

The Sensex and Nifty 50 finished 0.7% down at 65512.39 points and 19512.35 points, respectively.

According to Girirajan Murugan, CEO of FundsIndia, the smallcap and microcap stocks in the Indian market are risky and overheated at the moment due to their sharp rise in prices. He advises investors to diversify their portfolios to reduce risk and take advantage of the current correction in the market. Murugan also mentions that the continuing rally in crude oil prices and the depreciation of the rupee against the USD could pose short-term challenges.
