Nifty IT index fell 0.54% on fears of a delayed demand recovery in the US due to higher interest rates. Mphasis, Coforge, Tech Mahindra and Infosys were the top losers. Nifty Bank also declined 0.32%, dragged by Bank of Baroda, PNB and Indian Bank

The U.S. Federal Reserve may need to raise rates further given the resilience of the economy, Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari said on Monday.

In the international markets, both gold and silver were quoting lower at USD 1,912 per ounce and USD 23.05 per ounce, respectively.

“We are researching the insurance sector. Some of the businesses seem to be looking at earnings coming back to an extent and so that is one space I am looking at. Among others, engineering and the capital goods sector continues to be very interesting and pharma looks very interesting once more.”

The stock market was a hive of excitement today as both large and midcap stocks surged to new 52-week highs.

Pandey has tendered his resignation in order to pursue another opportunity, and the same shall be effective from December 4, the exchange said.

It said that if there was no account opening fee to recover the cost, the business could implicitly be pressured to get a customer to transact to recover that cost.

"For Indigo, one of our very fundamental customer promises is affordable fares, and that is what we keep there. So yes, there will be seasonal fluctuations, like there always are. We also see prices of fuel going up. But at the end of the day, the Indigo customer promise — affordable fares — will remain a very strong pillar of the airline."
