The index inclusion could result in inflows of about $24 billion into eligible government bonds from the start of next year to May 2025, IDFC First Bank said in a note.

Glenmark Pharma’s stake in the leading active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) platform will drop to 7.84% from 82.84%. "Azure Power will need $700 million to deliver the next three power projects including 700 MW solar, 120 MW wind and 150 MW hybrid project," said a company spokesperson. "To deliver the projects by next financial year, Azure will have to bring in part equity and raise debt. The company is relying on several sources to meet the capital need."

The natural resources major will raise funds through 250,000 debentures with a face value of ₹100,000 each. These debentures will be unrated, unlisted and redeemable.

After selling metals and mining shares worth ₹7,000 crore in August, FPIs offloaded another ₹4,556 crore worth of shares in the sector. Overseas investors also sold power shares worth ₹4,153 crore after they allocated a dominant ₹11,563 crore to the sector stocks in August.

The net long position of foreign portfolio investors decreased from Rs 33,913 crore on Wednesday to Rs 22,565 crore on Thursday.
