"We had invested very heavily in expanding our retail network, our electrician network and as of today, we have almost three lakh registered electricians with us. We have more than one lakh retail counters. So, we have invested a bit heavily. Our advertising and sales promotion expenses are double of the industry expenses. Last year, we also acquired one FMEG company. So, there was some impact on our profitability."

The Nifty Auto index closed 0.46 per cent down at 15995.95.

Mutual funds bought 61 lakh shares of Adani Power in August, compared to 17 lakh shares in July. In value terms, they bought shares worth Rs 194 crore, brokerage ICICI Securities said in its report. Quant Mutual Fund bought 14 lakh shares of Adani Enterprises for Rs 344 crore last month
