"Higher treasury yields weighed on the tech sector, with Nasdaq receiving fresh drubbing. Also, escalating US-China tensions, and rising recession fears as Chinese data showing industrial activity weakened in June could dent market sentiment. Technically, Nifty may face a hurdle at the 195,77 mark, while any further escalation could push the index towards the 19,900-20,000 zone," said Prashanth Tapse of Mehta Equities.

That sent U.S. Treasury yields spiking as bets grew that the Fed has further to go in raising rates to tame inflation, keeping the dollar elevated in early Asia trade on Friday. Against the greenback, the euro slipped 0.02% to $1.0890, while the New Zealand dollar was nursing some of its losses from the previous session and rose 0.09% to $0.6163.

L Catterton is working with advisers that include Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan on a potential U.S. listing that could happen this year or the next, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Despite a 42% share-price rally this year, the valuation is “still reasonable,” according to Weiss. The stock’s so-called PEG ratio, or the price-earnings multiple divided by the expected percentage growth in earnings, “remains in line with historical averages, despite the unrivaled generative AI positioning,” he wrote. The PEG ratio is a metric often used by growth-focused investors.

Stocks that were in focus on Thursday include names like Hindustan Zinc, which gained 8.22%, Marico, which was down 2% and JSW Steel, whose shares rose 0.3%.
