Asian stocks mixed after tame US CPI; dollar steady

Australian equities pared early declines while mainland China and Hong Kong shares whipsawed after the opening bell. US equity futures gained ground after the S&P 500 eroded an early advance to close flat, while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.2%. The Kospi Index in South Korea traded slightly higher.

The stock made a double bottom around its lower level and surged once again to close above 20-odd marks. Currently, the stock is in an uptrend and can face minor resistance of the previous higher level of 20.80; once the level is taken out, we can see 26-32 odd levels.

A 5-year swing high represents the highest price a stock has reached within a five-year timeframe. This level acts as a significant resistance point where the price has historically struggled to go beyond. This is seen as a bullish sign, indicating the potential for further upward movement in the stock.

​This signifies people holding a short position on a stock have decided to exit, and further, traders buy back shares that they initially took positions to short sell. Multiple short positions are squared off and is said to be a cautiously bullish indicator.​

Promoters held 74.95 per cent stake in the company as of 30-Jun-2023, while FIIs owned 15.3 per cent, DIIs 4.82 per cent.

In its rescue plan, the company aims to ensure the timely delivery of property projects, while also effectively controlling pre-sale monitoring funds. It said it also intends to adopt various debt management measures and ensure orderly operations, among others.

Governor Shaktikanta Das said lenders will have to also take into consideration age and payment capacity before changing loan terms.

The Nifty Bank index declined 0.7% as against the 0.5% decline in the benchmark Nifty. Equitas Small Finance, AU Small Finance, Bank of Maharashtra, and Bank of India fell between 2% and 5%. Kotak Mahindra, Bandhan, Indian Overseas Bank, Canara Bank and Union Bank declined nearly 1.5% each.
