Gold price eased by Rs 90 to Rs 59,945 per 10 gram in the national capital on Tuesday amid weak global trends, according to HDFC Securities. In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at Rs 60,035 per 10 gram. Silver also went lower by Rs 350 to Rs 72,250 per kilogram.In the overseas markets, both gold and silver were quoting lower at USD 1,939 per ounce and USD 23.05 per ounce, respectively.

While the Sensex closed at 62,969.13, up by 122.75 points or 0.20%, the broader market Nifty50 settled at 18,633.85, up by 35.20 points or 0.19%.

Stocks that were in focus include names like Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, which was up more than 7%, Aurobindo Pharma closed with gains of over 6% to hit a fresh 52-week high, and RIL closed flat, but witnessed a bullish MACD crossover on daily charts.

Indian stocks closed higher with Nifty forming a bullish candle on the daily charts and giving the highest close of the last 112 sessions. Support exists at 18,550 and 18,442 zones, while immediate targets are 18,750 and 18,888 zones. India VIX was down 2.36% and option data suggested a trading range between 18,400 to 18,800 zones. Consolidation is expected, but the uptrend remains intact and provides an opportunity to initiate fresh long positions. A strong green candle tomorrow could lead to an all-time high in Nifty within the next week.

Among single stocks, Nestle slipped 0.8% after the Swiss food group said it had hired Anna Manz, the finance chief at the London Stock Exchange Group, as its new chief financial officer. Unilever Plc dipped 0.6% after the consumer goods giant said Chief Financial Officer Graeme Pitkethly would leave by the end of May 2024.

Inox Wind, an Indian wind energy solutions provider, has seen its shares jump by 9.4% after a repeat order worth 150 MW from NTPC Renewable Energy. The project will take place in Gujarat and, with this order, Inox Wind has now received a total of 550 MW from NTPC. The firm will supply and install existing and new technology wind turbine generators, as well as be responsible for operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the project.
