After the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) ruled the case in favour of JKC, it was given 180 days to make payments of Rs 180 crore to the erstwhile creditors of the airline and Rs 250 crore to former employees. While May 14 is the last date to make the payments, the consortium has made no payments so far.

As many as 60 smallcap stocks gave double-digit weekly returns in a buoyant equity market, with Rail Vikas Nigam leading the smallcap category with 38% returns. Industry experts predict that in FY24, more small and medium-sized (SME) companies will plan to go public, further increasing the amount of money raised, following over 100% YoY growth. In FY2022-23, IPOs collectively raised over INR 2,200 crore ($296m). This was achieved through 125 issues, and it is expected that 150-200 companies from this sector could list on Indian stock exchanges in FY24. Hem Securities has supported around 80 SMEs to become listed, with many instances of over 100% returns. The objective of the SME IPO Conclave was to encourage entrepreneurs to list and share success stories.

Shares in small and micro-cap Chinese firms that are listed in the US soared on Friday, echoing rallies of last summer fuelled by individual traders. Online brokerage firm Top Financial Group saw an increase of 645% to $149 per share and Magic Empire Global jumped 328% to reach $3.97. Both are among the most closely watched stocks by retail investors on Stocktwits. Last October Nasdaq halted IPO preparations for four small Chinese firms while investigating other stock rallies.

Indian financial firms Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDBI Bank, IDFC First Bank and RBL Bank are among those set to report financial results on 24 April. Kotak is expected to see a rise in net interest income for the year to May 2023, while IDFC could report healthy loan growth led by retail and commercial finance. If estimates hold, IDFC will report Q1 net profit of INR640 crore ($85m), while RBL Bank could book INR220 crore, brokerage firm Motilal Oswal said.

Meta shares rose 14% after the earnings report, lifting Zuckerberg’s fortune to $87.3 billion and boosting him up a notch on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index to 12th place. It’s the highest the Meta chief executive officer’s wealth has been in more than a year.

The portfolio is 96% leased with a diversified tenant base of over 1,000 national and international brands like Apple. Zara, H&M, Uniqlo, Sephora, Superdry, Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, Starbucks, McDonalds among others across around 3,000 stores.

Kiran Rasiklal Mehta, Ask Realty and Developers, Sunita Agarwal, Suresh Maheshwari, Usha Maurya, Union Commodities and Sunrise Legal Advisor and Consultant were also penalised by the markets watchdog.

The order came after Arihant Capital proposed to settle the instant proceedings initiated against it, "without admitting or denying the findings of facts and conclusions of law".
