Gold rises Rs 30; silver climbs Rs 70

Gold prices edged up Rs 30 to Rs 60,680 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday amid positive global cues in overseas markets, according to HDFC Securities. In the previous trade, the yellow metal had finished at Rs 60,650 per 10 grams.

India VIX was down by 1.16% from 11.24 to 11.11 levels. Volatility cooled off today, which comforted the bulls at higher zones. Options data suggests a broader trading range between 18,500 to 18,900 zones while an immediate trading range between 18,600 to 18,800 zones.

Essel Group Chairman Subhash Chandra and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) MD and CEO Punit Goenka have moved the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) against a Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) order that restrained them from holding key managerial positions in listed entities.

Of the 15 PMS funds, 13 of them beat their benchmark BSE 500 index in May.
