Brent futures for February fell 96 cents, or 1.15%, to $82.30 a barrel by 1208 GMT. The more active March contract fell 1.2% to $82.98/bbl, after falling by over $2 earlier in the session.

The Nifty50 index closed 68 points or 0.38% higher at 18,191, while the S&P BSE Sensex rose 223 or 0.37% to 61,134. Meanwhile, broader markets underperformed the headline indices.

The OFS will see the sale of shares to the tune of Rs 544.41 crore by Vijaykumar Raghunandanprasad Agrawal, Rs 212.41 crore by Nimai Vijay Agrawal and Rs 43.18 crore by Prabha Vijay Agarwal.Going by the draft papers, the company may explore a pre-IPO placement. If such a placement is undertaken, the size of the fresh issue will be reduced.

“We are selectively bullish on NBFCs but one should keep in mind that the frenzy of retail credit has reached a stage where chances of it going up further is much lower compared to its remaining steady. We need to be cautious in this sector but the opportunity size is so big that if somebody wants to invest for a very long term, they can look into it.”

From the Sensex pack, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Axis Bank and Tata Steel were the top gainers, rising about 1.5-2%. ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, M&M and Wipro also closed with gains
