Data provided by Nippon Asset Management India shows that the Nifty ETF segment saw a record volume of Rs 540 crore as Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine.

For the day, Nifty50 closed at 16,247.95, down 815.30 points or 4.78 per cent. This is even as the index has fallen in the last seven straight sessions.

The partially convertible rupee was at 75.65/$1 at 3:30 pm on Thursday as against 74.55/$1 at the previous close. The Indian currency, which had opened at 74.65/$1, moved in a band of 74.6860-75.6500/$1 in the course of the day.
