The cryptocurrency market was trading lower on Friday, thanks to the sharp selloff in the US markets over inflation concerns and hawkish tone of US Fed. Barring the dollar pegged USD Coin and Avalanche, all eight out of the top-10 digital tokens were trading lower on Friday. Shina Inu, Solana and Terra dropped 6 per cent each.

FPI favourites IT and financial stocks led Sensex losers. New-age stocks also took a beating.

Business services provider Quess Corp on Thursday reported a 93.47 per cent jump in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 89 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2021.

Net-net, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned sellers of domestic stocks to the tune of Rs 1,732.58 crore, data available with NSE suggested. DIIs turned net buyers to the tune of Rs 2,727.23 crore, data suggests.

Oil prices eased early on Friday as hot U.S. inflation fanned worries about aggressive interest rate hikes and as investors await the outcome of U.S.-Iran talks that could lead to increased global crude supply. Brent crude futures fell 40 cents, or 0.4%, to $91.01 a barrel at 0140 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude declined 25 cents, or 0.3%, to $89.63 a barrel.

Asian share markets fell on Friday, after red-hot U.S. inflation data and hawkish comments from a Federal Reserve official fuelled bets on U.S. interest rates being hiked more aggressively, and sent U.S. Treasury yields jumping.
