Telecom AGR gets a higher recharge

According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India‘s (TRAI) performance data for the quarter, Jio’s AGR increased by 3.50% to Rs 18467.47 crore, Airtel’s upped by 7.56% to Rs 14730.85 crore when compared sequentially. Vi’s AGR registered an increase of 1.59% to Rs 6337.58 crore for the same period.

The share of the domestic mutual funds in the total institutional equity portfolio value reached a multi-year high of 17% at the end of December 2021, the data from the NSDL show.

At the interbank forex market, the local unit opened strong at 74.15 against the greenback and witnessed an intra-day high of 74.03 and a low of 74.21. It finally settled at 74.03, a rise of 31 paise over its previous close.

"Markets are showing tremendous resilience amid the rising COVID cases and the focus would now shift to the earnings season," said Ajit Mishra, VP - Research, Religare Broking.
