In the spot market, highest purity gold was sold at Rs 46,845 per 10 gram while silver was priced at Rs 60,584 per kg on Thursday, according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Shares of TVS Motor was up 0.3% at Rs 559.90 and L&T was up 0.9% at Rs 1727.75 at mid-day trade on Friday.

The Relative Strength Index of the stock stood at 34.12 on Friday.

A total of 408,308 shares changed hands on the counter till 12:55PM (IST)

Atul Suri, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Marathon Trends PMS, said if history is any guide, then the spring-like gains in the equity market since the Covid crash are a harbinger of a lengthy phase of consolidation in the coming future.

Analysts estimate TCS is likely to post 3-5 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 16-19 per cent year-on-year revenue growth for the September quarter.

Promoters held 66.33 per cent stake in the company as of 30-Jun-2021, while FII and DII ownership stood at 19.65 per cent and 0.82 per cent, respectively.

"The stance remains accommodative as long as necessary," Governor Shaktikanta Das said. "We have not been a prisoner of rulebook."

"We are still in a scenario where most investors are looking for a correction to enter the market rather than looking at an upside to exit the market."

The paper touched a high of 6.31% today and was last at 6.29%, two basis points higher than previous close. Bond prices and yields move inversely.
