Smaaash Entertainment Pvt Ltd (SEPL) was admitted by the Mumbai National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) following a default of ₹292.4 crore to Edelweiss Asset Reconstruction Company. The company suffered losses since it was shut for 18 months during the Covid-19 pandemic, but revenues improved after the Covid-related restrictions were lifted.

Economic data showed an unexpected acceleration of services activity and a robust increase in factory orders, suggesting that the economy was healthy enough to withstand the hawkish monetary policy from the U.S. Federal Reserve.

“The aggregate value of AT1 (additional tier one) bonds held in a particular bank, at any point of time, shall not excess 10% of the total outstanding AT1 bonds of that particular bank,” Insurance Regulatory Development Authority of India (IRDAI) said late Wednesday. Earlier, the cap was meant for any particular primary issuance of those bonds, popularly known as perpetual papers.

Brookfield India Reit is the only 100 per cent institutionally managed Reit.The company said rent payments have been near total at 99 per cent.Aggarwal said the company has generated NDCF (net-distributable cash flow) of Rs 170 crore or Rs 5.13 per unit for the quarter, in line with guidance.

"Our consolidated disbursement for the quarter stood at Rs 1,709 crore as compared to Rs 282 crore in Q1FY22 and Rs 1,900 crore in Q4FY22," it said.Break-up wise, microfinance disbursement in the June quarter was Rs 1,540 crore compared to Rs 235 crore last year. However, it was lower than Rs 1,592 crore in preceding quarter ended March 2022.

Revenue for the April-June quarter was $121.4 million on constant currency terms, or excluding the effect of exchange rate fluctuations. Loss on a non-GAAP basis — or not under the generally accepted accounting principles in the US — widened nearly three times to $15.8 million, but came in below its May forecast of $16.5-18.5 million.

Things are likely to improve hereon, paving the way for refinancing going forward. As far as new funding is concerned, companies are likely to look at the domestic market to fund their capex, Kumar said.

In a separate statement, the company said "the consolidated profit after tax (PAT) in Q1FY23 ended lower y-o-y. It is not comparable due to Rs 288 crore one-off income (Rs 238 crore net-off tax) in Q1FY22 and adverse forex movement of Rs 185 crore in the current quarter."
