The Nifty Realty index was trading 1.1 per cent down at 445.1.

"Our product mix remains balanced, with non-par savings at 35%, participating products at 30%, ULIPs at 25%, individual protection at 5% and annuity at 6%, based on individual APE during Q1 FY23. On total APE basis, our non-par savings segment has grown by 29%, protection by 31%, annuities by 39%, par by 23%, and UL by 10%."

Fed chair Jerome Powell, who sounded more hawkish than anticipated, has increased the interest rate forecast to 4.4% by the end of 2022. The indication is that 125 bps more rate hikes can be expected in the remaining two policy meetings scheduled this year.

“The last several years has been largely retail-led credit growth but we expect the corporate credit growth to pick up. Anyway with higher inflation levels working, capital requirements are also going up. We are fairly positive on lenders as rising interest rates would be positive for their NIMs, at least in the initial part of the rate cycle. Financials is definitely a good space.”
