Oil prices dropped on Wednesday after U.S. gasoline stocks fell more than expected last week, which could heighten pressure on the Biden administration to release oil from emergency reserves to cap soaring gasoline prices. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell 76 cents, or 0.9%, to $80.00 a barrel at 0211 GMT, extending a 12 cent loss from Tuesday.

Gold prices inched higher on Wednesday but hovered around a recent low, after a jump in U.S. retail sales kept the dollar close to a 16-month high. Spot gold rose 0.2% to $1,854.39 per ounce by 0207 GMT, but the metal was still only about $6 shy off its lowest level since last Friday hit in the previous session. U.S. gold futures gained 0.2% to $1,857.10.

On Tuesday, a division bench of the Delhi court was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the Confederation of All India Traders Association (CAIT) as the trade body has alleged the CCI of “sitting on” the FCPL’s March application for 235 days “without taking any decision.”

"The technology (blockchain) is more than 10 years old, it did not come yesterday. The technology will grow and can grow without cryptos,' said Governor Das.

Sebi said a limit would not apply if the proposed acquisition has been identified and specific disclosures about such investments were made in the offer document.
