Online food delivery service provider Zomato plans to deliver food to its customers in record 10 minutes, following the footsteps of grocery delivery companies, Deepinder Goyal, the founder said in a tweet.

Nifty50 on Monday fell nearly 1 per cent after two days of back-to-back rise. With this, the index slipped below its 50-day moving average and formed a bearish candle on the daily chart. Analysts are not so worried as they believe strong support for the index is placed around 17,000, which also coincides with the 200-day moving average.

"This very sharp spike in commodity prices is actually having relatively mixed impacts ... because we have some notable commodity exporters in this region, who would possibly stand to benefit," said Manishi Raychaudhuri, Asia-Pacific equity strategist at BNP Paribas.

Front-month West Texas Intermediate futures were up $2.21, or 1.97%, to $114.33 a barrel on NYMEX and Brent futures were up $2.51, or 2.26%, to $118.23 a barrel on the Intercontinental Exchange at 0014 GMT. Both contracts had settled up more than 7% on Monday as the potential for more supply disruptions weighed on the market.

“While one does not have to be afraid or fearful of the market, there is no harm in being cautious; there is no harm in following the dharma of asset allocation. This is the market which is fairly valued. One should be equal allocation to equity, not leverage, not overweight, keeping in mind the long-term India growth story. This is the time to have equal weight on equity.”

“In an environment where interest rates are likely to head up, liquidity is likely to come down, the smallcap does better and especially given the macroeconomic and geopolitical environment, one can be wrong and therefore one needs to do asset allocation. But I would think that for most investors, one is better off looking at a larger cap rather than the smallcaps.”

HUL has a demonstrated track record of managing cost inflation. Volume sluggishness is a natural consequence of high price inflation and weakness in consumption; the brokerage believes these issues are temporary and will resolve over a few quarters.

The spot prices of gold have dropped about 2,150 per 10 gram in the last couple of weeks, whereas silver has eased more than 3,200 per kg during the period under review.

Among Sensex stocks, FMCG stock fell the most.
