“In a rising interest rate scenario with good credit growth, I would prefer banks over NBFCs. Other spaces like insurance, asset management companies, brokerage, tend to be different. Insurance is more stable because there is visibility of first year premiums, renewal premiums and the income of the existing book. AMCs and brokerage houses tend to be a little more cyclical.”

“We are looking at something like 41 million tonnes of sucrose and our domestic consumption is anything between 27 and 27.5 million tonnes. Diversion to ethanol directly as part of juice could be another 5 million tonnes. We would still need to export and that could be anything between 8 to 8.5 million tonnes.

The rupee closed at 79.77, barely changed from 79.74 in the previous session. Earlier, it hit 79.60, which traders said may have been due to wariness in running long dollar positions amid range-bound markets and high cost of carry.

The 30-share Sensex rose 300.44 points to end at 59,141.23. Its broader peer, Nifty50, ended at 17,622.25, up 91.40 points.

The real estate firm has a portfolio comprising over 100 million square feet and 628 acres of prime property, mostly in Mumbai. Also, the company has tied up with Adani Goodhomes on various projects.Promoters, including Vinod Goenka family, Balwa family and a few others, have close to 69 per cent stake in the Mumbai-based DB Realty.

"BAF continues to deliver stronger than peer-group growth as well as profitability. Moreover, even if there is some moderation in NIMs due to a rise in funding costs, it could get compensated by the potential for operating efficiencies. These would support its premium valuations," the brokerage said in a report.
