Indian benchmark indices opened flat on Thursday, following subdued moves in Asian markets. The US Federal Reserve kept rates steady and offered limited guidance on further reductions in borrowing costs this year. Gains from Bajaj Finance were offset by losses in Tata Motors, which reported weak Q3 results. Wall Street equities closed lower overnight and Asian markets were muted.

Brigade Enterprises share price: The company’s revenue in Q3 FY25 grew by 27%, reaching Rs 1,530 crore, compared to Rs 1,208 crore in Q3 FY24. EBITDA for the third quarter of FY25 stood at Rs 479 crore, up 62% from Rs 296 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Predicting budget outcomes is like shooting a dart blindfolded. Capital gain tax has seen quite many changes over the years with a major overhaul last year. Any tax reduction will be celebrated by the market but too frequent changes also create confusion. It will be interesting to see which way the coin flips.

Voltas reported a profit of Rs 132 crore for Q3 FY25, reversing last year’s loss, driven by strong demand for household appliances. Revenue grew 18% YoY to Rs 3,087 crore. For the nine months ending December 31, 2024, the company saw a 28% rise in total income, reaching Rs 10,890 crore, with net profit rising to Rs 599 crore.

GR Infraprojects share price: The project, awarded under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode, involves earthwork, blanketing, ballast supply, the construction of minor and major bridges, station amenities, office buildings, water supply, sanitation, and retaining walls.

Indian markets are expected to trade higher on Thursday, supported by positive global cues. Nifty futures gained 0.87% to close at 23,177. Options data indicates a broader range of 22,700–23,700, with an immediate range of 22,900–23,400. Analysts suggest support at 22,950 and resistance at 23,350. Several stock recommendations are provided for short-term traders.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presents the Union Budget 2025 on February 1, with expectations to hike capex, boost consumption via tax cuts, stick to fiscal goals, manage the rupee, and ease investor tax burdens. Analysts predict a growth-oriented budget focusing on infrastructure while maintaining fiscal prudence and supporting capital spending.
