Zee Sony merger: Sony Group Corp is unlikely to extend merger negotiations with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. The termination notice of the proposed $10 billion merger between Sony and Zee is said to have been sent.

In the post-earnings conference call, the UltraTech management said it expects capacity utilisation to improve close to 80-85% in the three months to March, from about 77% in the December 2023 quarter.

A long buildup is when there is a rise in open interest and volumes along with an increase in the price of the underlying stock in the Futures and Options segment.

At 9:50 am, Bitcoin was trading 1.55% lower at $40,999, while Ethereum was down 2.09% at $2,421. Whereas altcoins, such as Solana, Cardano, Dogecoin, and Internet Computer, fell over 4% each.

No major Q3 results announcements are scheduled for 26th January due to the Republic Day holiday.

For a sample of 215 companies that have so far declared October-December results, revenue grew by 11.2%, while net profit rose by 14.2%. In the year-ago quarter, revenue expansion was 19% and profit growth stood at 6.5%.
