The Nifty future closed positive with gains of 0.88% at 22140 levels on Monday. India VIX was up by 5.27% from 13.10 to 13.79 levels. Volatility was slightly on the rise and created momentum at lifetime high zones.

Deepak Shenoy says Reliance is a sum of the parts valuation due to its various businesses, including telecom, oil and gas/chemical, and retail. He anticipates a demerger between the oil to consumer (O2C) segment, Jio, and Reliance Retail in the next four to five years, leading to higher market value. While the next 12 to 18 months may not be exciting for the business, Shenoy is holding on for the demerger.

The F&O contracts of any stock enter the ban period when the open interest (OI) on it crosses 95% of the market-wide positions limits or MWPL. The ban on it is reversed only if the open interest falls below 80%.

Indian equity indices opened lower due to the decline in Asian peers. The BSE Sensex and Nifty50 both traded in the red, dragged down by IT and energy stocks. HCL Tech, Wipro, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys opened with cuts, while JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank, and Bharti Airtel opened with gains. The Nifty IT index fell, led by HCL Tech and Wipro. Aster DM Healthcare shares rose 10% after announcing a dividend for shareholders. Jio Financial Services reported a decline in net profit, causing its shares to fall.
