From Tata Steel to Tata Motors, a host of index heavyweight companies have reported first-quarter of FY24 earnings this week. If you have missed tracking the numbers, here is a quick snapshot.

The automaker is seen reporting a 143% YoY rise in net profit to Rs 2,460, according to the average of estimates given by 12 brokerages. Net sales is seen growing nearly 20% YoY to Rs 31,730 crore. Sequentially, the bottomline is likely to decline 6.2% and revenue may drop by about 1%

These circumstances led to unbiased selling in emerging markets as investors sought safer assets with higher yields, further exacerbated by the strengthening of the US Dollar. The collective occurrence of these events elevated the geoeconomic risk landscape to structurally higher levels

Major firms such as Maruti Suzuki, Titan, Bharti Airtel, and M&M among others will release their June quarter results this week. The report cards of other companies such as GAIL, Power Grid, Sun Pharma, and Adani Enterprises are also expected to be out. This week, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Enterprises, Adani Transmission, Titan, IndiGo, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, SBI, M&M, Varun Beverages, and Bank of Baroda are scheduled to announce their quarterly performance.

Operating profit, calculated as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), grew by nearly 17% on year to Rs 11,369.40 crore. Operating margin expanded a sharp 471 basis points to 29.06%.
