The total value of cryptocurrency lost due to hacks, scams and exploits in April 2021 was $103.7m, according to blockchain security firm CertiK. Multiple significant thefts contributed to the figure, with Bitrue Exchange losing $22m and South Korean GDAC having $13m stolen. Additionally, the report recorded $74.5m worth of crypto being lost to DeFi and other exploits. Nearly half of the $145m lost to such attacks in the first four months of the year was recorded in April. There were also around $20m in losses from flash loan attacks.

The 200-day DMA is used as a key indicator by traders for determining the overall trend in a particular stock. As long as the stock is priced above the 200-day SMA on the daily time frame, it is generally considered to be an overall uptrend.

Indian markets are expected to consolidate on Friday following muted global cues, with the weekly maximum Call OI placed at 18300 and the maximum Put OI placed at 18200. On Thursday, Nifty50 closed above 18200 levels, with Call writing seen at 18600 then 18400 strikes and Put writing at 18200 and 18100 strikes. SBI Life, HCL Technologies, SBI and PVR are the recommended stocks for those with a short-term trading horizon, according to experts cited by ETBureau. The Sensex rose more than 500 points while India VIX was down from 11.84 to 11.73 levels.

The overall market outlook is positive, but the IT sector continues to deteriorate, says Sandip Sabharwal. IT companies may not benefit from a declining US dollar and a lack of big upsides may dissuade investors.While companies have been trying to push volumes into the market due to subdued consumer demand, higher promotional and advertising expenses may have also led to the miss from Dabur. HDFC and HDFC Bank are expected to continue doing well in a positive fund flow scenario.

Despite external factors with respect to inflation and global slowdown remain challenging for India, we are positive on the domestic economy as the overall macro situation is superior to other markets from a long-term perspective.
