I think the cement sector itself one should be underweight on. There are only two levers, your volume grows up or your prices go up. Volumes are not growing as much as people would expect given the kind of capacity that is coming up. So with that capacity you will automatically have to reduce or not be able to increase prices as much.

The government on Wednesday imposed restrictions on imports of certain gold jewellery and articles. In a notification, the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT) amended the import policy for unstudded jewellery made of gold, and other articles made of gold to “restricted” from “free”.

In the first auction on December 21, Torrent Investments made the highest offer of Rs 8,640 crore, while the Hinduja Group entity offered Rs 8,110 crore. However, within 24 hours, the Hinduja entity gave a revised, improved offer of Rs 9,000 crore, a development contested by Torrent.

In its notified rules, the capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has said that agreements that subsist as of the date of notification are to be disclosed to the stock exchanges. It was earlier understood that only prospective agreements must be disclosed, not retrospective.
