While it might not be necessary to understand the options greeks fully in order to be a profitable trader, if the traders can make themselves aware of the very basics of the options greeks, it will surely add value to their trading and help them avoid some common pitfalls in trading. From the past 4 weeks, the index has been trading in the range of 17770 to 18200. The underlying tone of the market is sideways to negative as the index had formed a bearish engulfing pattern on the monthly chart which is a bearish reversal sign. On the lower side, the index has strong support at 17800 level as it is neckline of Inverted head and shoulder pattern and 100 EMA support on daily chart.

According to the data with the depositories, FPIs have made a net withdrawal of Rs 15,068 crore from the Indian equity markets during January 2-13. Only two of the 10 trading days in January to date saw net purchases.
