The Nikkei share average rose 1.1% to close at 28,252.42, while the broader Topix climbed 0.93% to 1,91.66.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index climbed 0.8%, extending gains to a third straight session, as a sell-off in bonds continued.

The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 1696.15 and a 52-week low of Rs 1002.5.
