Vedanta’s shares have experienced severe volatility (losing 10 per cent last week) ever since the announcement of the demerger – which aims to consider a possible spinoff of its aluminum, iron and steel and oil and gas businesses into separate listed entities.

On the technical charts, the RSI of the stock stood at 49.63.

“Domestic markets are likely to remain weak even after four days of continuous fall. Markets are unlikely to see a sharp recovery in the short-term until fresh positive triggers appear,” said Sageraj Bariya, Vice President - Institutional Sales, East India Securities.

The stock traded at a P/E multiple of 60.95, while the price-to-book value ratio stood at 2.01.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 1.54 per cent up at 512.9.

A total of 811 shares changed hands on the counter till time (IST).

Bitcoin, which has been falling since hitting all-time highs, fell further 1 per cent. Ethereum was stable at last day’s price. Avalanche also traded in the red but XRP and Cardano were among a few that traded with gains. Meanwhile, Polkadot fell about 2 per cent but that was not a worry, said analysts.

The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 1356.9 and a 52-week low of Rs 748.1.

“It is still a little early to start making an aggressive auto call at this point in time. Demand is going to be a little overriding and one will have stock specific stories, but at a broader sectoral level, we just wait a little bit more to see demand jumping back.”
