The partially convertible rupee opened at 76.2150 per US dollar as against 76.5600 per US dollar at close. The rupee, which was last at 76.3300/$1, moved in a range of 76.2600-76.4150/$1 so far in the day.

“Maybe buy half of HDFC Bank now and wait out to see if the markets give another leg down over the next few weeks. The downside on HDFC Bank as per me is pretty limited because typically even if the interest rate hike cycle starts, HDFC Bank weathers it very well compared to most other banks especially PSU banks.”

A total of 263 shares changed hands on the counter till 11:47AM (IST).

"Our analysts preferred stocks within these sectors include Bharat Electronics, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Shree Cement and Hindalco," the brokerage said.

Promoters held 41.94 per cent stake in the company as of 31-Dec-2021, while FII and DII ownership stood at 39.77 per cent and 9.54 per cent, respectively.

The Relative Strength Index of the stock stood at 46.18 on Thursday.

The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 1147.9 and a 52-week low of Rs 753.45.

Tata Power holds 26 per cent stake in the joint venture through its wholly-owned Singapore-based arm Tata Power International Pte Ltd. The balance 74 per cent stake is held by ICICI and others.
