​Gold prices surged Rs 450 to Rs 64,300 per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday amid strong global cues, according to HDFC Securities. This is at least the second time the precious metal prices have touched a record high of Rs 64,300 per 10 grams on December 4.

Sandip Sabharwal says: “Among the largecaps, I would say that something like Tata Steel could possibly do well, like the iron ore story is also looking decent. Hindalco has already done very well, so there is a possibility Vedanta could come back. The only spanner in the works there is the huge debt of the parent and what happens to that.”

The Nifty Auto index closed 1.01 per cent up at 18408.6.

The stock quoted a 52-week high of Rs 346.9 and a 52-week low of Rs 182.45.

As of 30-Sep-2023, promoters held 50.05 per cent stake in the company, while FIIs held 7.1 per cent and domestic institutional investors had 12.52 per cent.
