Why Stablecoins are an oxymoron to their name

A Stablecoin is a popular form of cryptocurrency designed to maintain a constant value through a peg to another asset. In 2022, the cumulative market capitalization of Stablecoins was around $180 billion, which declined to nearly $120 billion in 2023.

From the Sensex pack, Wipro, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, and NTPC closed in the red, while Nestle, UltraTech Cement, IndusInd Bank, and L&T closed in the green. Adjusted EBITDA (before ESOPs) for the quarter is likely to improve further sequentially to Rs 175 crore, compared with Rs 84 crore in the preceding June quarter. Paytm narrowed its losses to Rs 357 crore in the quarter ended June. Revenue from operations during the quarter rose 39% to Rs 2,342 crore.

UltraTech Cement reported a net profit of Rs 1,281 crore for the quarter ended September 2023, a 69% increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue from operations also rose by 15% to Rs 16,012 crore. The company achieved a robust volume growth of 16% during the quarter, with domestic sales volume at 25.66 million tonnes. UltraTech is optimistic about the demand revival, especially during the festive season and the peak construction period in January-March. Its shares were trading 2.25% higher at Rs 8,464 on the NSE.

Data on Wednesday suggested the economy is stabilising, but analysts and investors are still concerned if the economy has truly bottomed out, with the property sector mired in a deep contraction.

According to the company, PREF I has been fully deployed across four office assets in Bangalore and Mumbai which are 100% leased to Grade A tenants like LG, Tata Finance and 24/7 AI.
