Companies are struggling to prepare themselves for the new regulations, some of which are in place while others will take effect in the next few months, executives said. The new rules include confirmation or denial of market rumours, disclosing business contracts to family settlements, matters concerning senior employees, new environmental, social and governance regulations, communicating actions taken by any authorities, the companies say.

Shareholders, who are represented on board, have committed to subscribe 184 million pounds, of which 115 million pounds worth of shares will be bought by Yew Tree Overseas, Public Investment Fund, Geely International (Hong Kong) and Mercedes-Benz AG.

LIC MF had an AUM of Rs 18,400 crore and IDBI MF had Rs 3,650 crore as of June. After completion of the merger, out of 20 schemes of IDBI MF, 10 schemes will be merged with similar schemes of LIC MF and the remaining 10 will be taken over by LIC MF on standalone basis, which will take its total scheme count to 38

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed fines of INR2m ($27,441) on two former Dewan Housing Finance Corp promoters for violating disclosure norms. The SEBI imposed a penalty of INR1m each on Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan for failing to disclose full details about a transaction involving shares held by the company.

The proposed bonus issue is subject to approval of the shareholders of the company in the ensuing annual general meeting. The estimated date by which bonus shares will be credited is September 25. ​The Board has also approved raising of funds up to Rs 12,000 crore from the domestic market through bonds under private placement during FY25 in one or more tranches.

Sectorally, buying was seen in infrastructure, utilities, power, public sector and capital goods while selling was seen in FMCG and healthcare stocks. Stocks that were in focus on Monday include names like BLS International, which rallied more than 14% to hit a fresh 52-week high; Hindustan Copper, which gained over 10%, and IRFC that closed over 9% higher to hit a fresh 52-week high

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest IT services company, overtook HDFC Bank to become the second most valued firm in India on Monday. TCS commanded a market capitalisation of INR 12,51,798.07 crore, which was INR 6,049.69
