Bulk of rise in forex reserves in Q1 due to gold

Reserve Bank of India added $5.6 billion to its stock of reserves in the June quarter, the latest Reserve Bank of India data indicated. Of this while foreign currency assets rose $1.9 billion during the quarter, the value of gold in reserves rose $3.8 billion during the quarter. India’s foreign currency reserves are at $652 billion as of June 28.

RKN Enterprises, a part of Godrej Enterprises Group, on Monday sold shares worth Rs 3,803 crore in Godrej Industries Ltd to members of Godrej Industries Group as part of the Godrej family settlement announced in April. According to the block deal data available on the BSE, RKN Enterprises offloaded a total of 4,25,83,272 shares, amounting to a 12.65 per cent stake in Godrej Industries.

Indian benchmarks closed flat on Monday as gains from ITC, and RIL were offset by losses in HDFC Bank, and Titan. The S&P BSE Sensex closed 0.05% lower at 79,960, while the NSE Nifty50 index ended below the 24,350 level.

Edelweiss Financial Services opened a fresh public issue of bonds or Secured Redeemable Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) with value of Rs. 100 crores and a green shoe option of Rs. 100 crores, aggregating to a total of Rs. 200 crores. The issue will open on July 8 and close on July 22.
