​Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research at Kotak Securities, stated that as long as the index traded above 24,200/79,600, the bullish structure was likely to continue. Above this level, the market could rally up to 24,400/80,200, and further upside was possible, which could lift the index up to 24,500/80,500. ​

Indian government bond yields ended lower on Wednesday amid a pullback in U.S. Treasury yields, while traders still assessed the pace of foreign inflows into debt after domestic securities were included in a global index.

Nifty ended Wednesday’s session with a gain of 163 points to form a small negative candle but broke out of a sideways consolidation movement on the daily chart ahead of Thursday’s expiry.

On Wednesday, Indian headline indices reached new record highs, driven by a rally in banks and financial stocks.

The 30-stock S&P BSE Sensex reached a record high of 80,074.3 before closing the session at 79,987, up by 545 points or 0.69%. Meanwhile, the broader Nifty hit a peak of 24,309.15 before ending the day at 24,287, gaining 163 points or 0.67%.
