On Monday, Adani Power climbed 4.99 per cent to hit a high of Rs 267.35. Adani Green Energy advanced 2.68 per cent to Rs 2,230. Adani Enterprises rose 1.55 per cent to Rs 2,087. Adani Transmission fell 2.26 per cent to Rs 2,165.60. Adani Total Gas declined 1.34 per cent to Rs 2,344.10. Adani Wilmar slipped 0.92 per cent to Rs 566.

Renovation and home improvement trends also sharply picked up and going ahead, the real estate industry is likely to maintain its northward movement post a slump during FY15‐FY20, hence, the demand for sanitaryware products is expected to remain strong.

The Nikkei ended 0.45% higher at 26,547.05. The benchmark jumped as much as 1.55% to a one-week high of 26,836.96 in early trading, but shed most of the early gains after data showed a sharper-than-expected slowdown at factories and shops in major trade partner China.

“The US is not looking as good as India is currently. As we sit today, it looks like India will continue to outperform because it has come out of a period of a very long underperformance and as far as the US recession is concerned, one will have to watch whether the Fed let’s US go to that situation because as of now, on the labour market front, things are very buoyant in the US.”

We have taken judicious price hikes of ~4.5% and may take further hikes in case the need arises. In Q4FY22 our gross margins at 62.4% contracted by just 30 bps on account of judicious price hikes and strategic procurements and other cost optimisation initiatives...The quarter saw continued unprecedented levels of inflation which hurt consumer wallets across rural and urban areas and this has impacted volumes.

The abrupt reversal in the current year is owing to a host of issues, both emerging and residual, EY said, listing out rising geopolitical tensions, stock market volatility; price correction in overvalued stocks from recent IPOs and growing concerns about a rise in the commodity and energy prices.
