The rupee declined by 7 paise to close at 79.93 (provisional) after moving in a narrow range against the US dollar on Thursday. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency opened at 79.80 per dollar. It hovered in a range of 79.80 to 79.

In a regulatory filing, the company said it is closing down its manufacturing facility in Illinois, USA and will continue its business in the United States through contract manufacturing alliances for its products sold in North America.The drugmaker also said that the new arrangement is in the interest of the company as it will help avoid the manufacturing and quality management cost completely resulting in significant savings in operating and overhead costs.

Gold price in the national capital on Wednesday rose Rs 274 to Rs 51,909 per 10 grams amid firm global trends, according to HDFC Securities. The yellow metal had closed at Rs 51,635 per 10 grams in the previous trade.
