The Nifty Auto index closed 0.05 per cent down at 11674.05.

Ravi Singh, Vice President and Head of Research, ShareIndia said that US consumer prices rose solidly in January, leading to the biggest annual increase in inflation in 40 years. "This can fuel financial market speculation for an interest rate hike from the Federal Reserve next month and shooting benchmark U.S. and German treasury yields to multi-year highs" he added.

The company’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) dipped 21.3 per cent to Rs 109 crore in Q3 FY22 over Rs 139 crore in Q3 FY21. The EBITDA margin stood at 22 per cent in the third quarter of the current financial year as compared to 30.7 per cent a year ago.

A faster-than-envisaged pace of rate hikes in the US could exacerbate a recent spree of selling pressure displayed by foreign investors in Indian equities, especially as the Reserve Bank of India has refrained from normalizing ultra-loose pandemic-era monetary policy, dealers said.
