"ETF investors have also moved to side-lines after recent inflows. Gold has continued to rise indicating buying interest however it may halt as US inflation data today may add to expectations that Fed may act soon," said Ravindra Rao, CMT, EPAT, VP- Head Commodity Research.

“On the inflation side, this quarter we believe that we are going to be right at that upper edge of the inflation target band. We are expecting to see prints between 5.7% and 6%. We expect policy action in April and we expect to see two repo rate hikes of 25 bps each in June and in August.”

The stock traded at a P/E multiple of 7.51, while the price-to-book value ratio stood at 2.36.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.28 per cent down at 11647.25.

“The market is adjusting to higher rates which is showing growth and rates cannot go without sync. We are well poised to go back to 18,000 next week. Results have been great and even standouts and now there is enough cushion on the legs with the downside in IT, pharma.”

The IPO size is expected to be in the range of Rs 70,000 crore to Rs 1 lakh crore, Angel One said in a note. With this, LIC would command a market capitalisation of Rs 13-15 lakh crore post listing

The stock which was listed at Rs 221, compared to the issue price of Rs 230, hit a new high of Rs 381 on Thursday, showing a strong rise of 72 per cent in just 3 days of listing
